Fine crafts association of Vilnius associates 17 members. They are the participants of the programme of Fine crafts ethnographical trades and fairs initiated by Vilnius City Municipality Board in 2001. Programme is coordinated by Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency.
The main objectives of association are these: to consolidate the participants of the programme of Fine crafts ethnographical trades and fairs for collective activity, to develop and present the programme of crafts to the society, to prepare applications and projects to EU structural funds and support institutions. To concentrate the members on collective activity when participating in city festivals and fairs. To organize training and perfection of craftsmen, seminars, exhibitions and events. To develop regional and international cooperation with workshops of craftsmen, galleries, museums, tourism agencies and other organizations.
Association works positively in order to re-establish small Crafts town in Tymo quarter as soon as possible, and to establish here training, professional development and re-skilling centre of handicraft as well as workshop of craftsmen. Craftsmen concentrated on collective activity will reactivate and develop the handicraft in Lithuania and will become a significant accent in events "Vilnius European Capital of Culture 2009".
