History and presentation of activity
Black ceramics was produced in Lithuania from neolithic age. The biggest part of it is found in territory of Prussia (present Poland). In the Middle Ages this tradition was spreaded broadly in North and East Europe. Hereupon in Vilnius, tables of rich people were decorated using not only separate dishes of this type, but also services of black ceramics. In the Middle ages in Vilnius, black ceramics was named ceramics of the city. In nowadays this method of making of ceramics in Europe is unremembered practically. Lithuania is one of the countries in our earth, where black ceramics is retained.
In our gallery you will find an exposition of professional artistical works of ceramicists. Here you can purchse artworks of ceramics, things of interior decoration, decorations, souvenirs. Ceramics studio for adults and children works constantly. Gallery-workshop participates positively in the activity of festivals in Vilnius, also organizes various events.
