History and presentation of activity
Jeweller's art beginning in Lithuania goes from XVI century, when European Renaissance goldsmithes worked for Zygimantas Augustas. Cultural truck between Lithuania and Italy had a big influence to it.
Darijus Gerlikas after studies and traineeship in Florence in a workshop of family of jewellers Chillers, whose family tradition goes from XIX century, returned into Lithuania and established studio-gallery in the centre of Vilnius, near St. Spirit church. Here, new artworks revive in the eyes of visitors, students study here and exhibitions are changed monthly.
Jeweller demonstrates work process, from the creation of design till its representation to the waiter. He communicates with visitors and presents them jeweller's materials, jewels, its properties, methods of inlay and importance to the decoration. He advices to pick the most suitable decoration.
